Factors affecting the recovery time in vaginismus

Aim: To examine the factors that had an impact on treatment duration in patients presenting with a diagnosis of vaginismus. Method: This retrospective study included 62 who received cognitive behavioral therapy for Golombok Rusk Inventory Sexual Satisfaction (GRISS), Myths Scale tests and socio-demographic questionnaire were applied to all patients. Those responded first 7 weeks classified as 'early responders' others 'non-early responders’ may affect responses investigated. Results: Thirty-two early responders (52%) 30 late/no (48%). Concerns regarding pain experienced by spouse (OR:7.4, 95% CI: 1.02-54.2, p=0.048) idea sexual intercourse should always be initiated male partner (OR:8.98, 05% CI:1.07-75.38, p=0.043) emerged predictors response multivariate analysis.
